Hemp Derived THC

NextGen Nutrition has been at the forefront of an enormous industry that has recently emerged since 2018 and the federal legalization of Hemp THC.  As the end of cannabis prohibition begins and the once held stigmas surrounding cannabis are proven to be inaccurate, we are bringing our knowledge and personal experience as top athletes who have experienced the health benefits of Cannabinoids to you! As we work to release our line of THC infused health supplements, we have one goal and that is to improve the health and wellness of others as our products have for us.  That is why we source all of our ingredients from the best vendors in America and have industry leading consultants keeping us up to date on market information. The two forms of Hemp derived THC our products contain are Delta 8 THC which is infused in ELEV-8 Pre-workout and Delta 9 THC which is infused in our Whey Protein.

Hemp-derived Delta-9 THC is a form of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) that is sourced specifically from hemp plants, which are legally defined as cannabis plants containing less than 0.3% THC by dry weight under the 2018 Farm Bill.

Delta-9 THC is the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis responsible for the "high" sensation. When derived from hemp, it must still meet legal THC limits, meaning that products containing hemp-derived Delta-9 THC often use a larger overall product size (like edibles or supplements) to stay compliant while delivering a sufficient dose of Delta-9 for noticeable effects.

These products allow people to enjoy the benefits of THC while staying within legal boundaries, offering a balance between recreational enjoyment and the health benefits like stress relief, pain reduction, and enhanced recovery in fitness.

Delta-8 THC is a naturally occurring isomer, with a very similar molecular structure of the more-commonly known chemicals, CBD and Delta-9 THC. Delta-9 THC is the most prevalent compound that is produced when the cannabis plant is ignited. Delta-8 THC is also broken down during the combustion of the cannabis plant, but at much smaller levels. Another way to produce Delta-8 THC is by converting the molecular structure of CBD or Delta-9 THC compounds through chemical reactions using heat, pressure, catalysts, and/or solvents.

What is the difference between Delta-8 and Delta-9 THC?

Delta-8 THC is roughly 50% as psychoactive as Delta-9 THC, yet still provides noticeable benefits to users such as boosted mood, relaxed mindset, and mild euphoria. This difference in psychoactive response from the brain is caused by the placement of the double-bond within the carbon atoms of the two structures. In Delta-9 THC, this double-bond is present on the 9th carbon atom of the molecule, whereas with Delta-8 THC, the double-bond is present on the 8th carbon atom. Although Delta-8 and Delta-9 THC both attach to endocannabinoid receptors of the brain, this difference in molecular structure is what leads to the difference in psychoactive effect. However, due to the CB2 receptor of the brain's endocannabinoid system being critical for suppressing inflammation, it is possible that Delta-8 is preferrable over Delta-9 for treating inflammation because it is less psychoactive.

Noticeable Effects of Delta-8 THC

When paired with our pre-workout ingredients and in a exercise environment, our users report the following effects of our Delta-8 THC ingredients: stronger mind-body connection during dynamic power movements and cardio, relaxing bodily sensation that provides relief from aching joints and tight muscles, and a confident mindset suited for attacking workouts. In addition, Delta-8 is commonly known to produce less or none of the common side affects attributed to Delta-9 such as fatigue, dry mouth, sleep issues, or paranoia.

Our Delta-8 THC ingredients are flavorless, odorless, and fully water soluble. The reported effects of our Delta-8 THC ingredients can be expected to take effect within 15-20 minutes following consumption. These effects can be expected to last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour following onset. These effects will vary from user to user depending on several factors such as body size, previous experience with THC products, and tolerance following continual usage. For NextGen products, we advise starting with our recommended serving size, and increasing dosage if needed by preference.

Legality of Delta-8 THC

Delta-8 THC has been federally legal in all forms since 2018 when the H.R.2 - Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 was passed into law by Congress. The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 distinguishes between cannabis and hemp products based on the concentration of Delta-9 THC. Products with a concentration of Delta-9 THC over >0.3% are classified as cannabis products and remain a Schedule I controlled substance at the federal level of the US. Products with a concentration of Delta-9 THC under <0.3% are categorized as hemp derivatives and were made federally legal by the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018. NextGen Nutrition's ingredients are 3rd party lab tested to be proven to meet the regulations set forth by the H.R.2 - Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018.

Safety precautions associated with Delta-8 THC

Due to the lab procedures required to produce Delta-8 THC, it is a warranted concern for the safety precautions taken by the labs producing these compounds. Solvents and solutions used to derive Delta-8 THC from CBD and Delta-9 THC must be properly removed to produce a pure final product. NextGen Nutrition's ingredients are 3rd party tested to guarantee purity and safety.
